Hop on a horse? Yes, in Northern Michigan trail riding on horses is a great way to see the countryside. Boyne Highlands Resort, just outside Harbor Springs, has an equestrian facility that offers rides for the entire family.

Boyne Highlands Equestrian Center can let your saddle up and trot away to explore Boyne's more than 4,000 areas of forest, meadows and hills. The one and two hour rides follow trails that have been gently cut for horses only and let you explore at your own pace.

The Equestrian Center is open from spring through fall with varying times and days depending on the season.
