Interested in insects, plants, and ecosystems? The University of Michigan's Biological Station just outside Pellston offers a series of lectures each summer covering topics in both general lectures and more specific research forums. Listed here are the 2011 sessions; check back in 2012 for the new line up.



Every Sunday from late July-mid August, the Sunday Environmental Film Series takes place at 7:30pm in the Marian P. and David M. Gates Lecture Hall.

July 24 Cane Toads, 1988, unrated, 47 minutes
July 31 Koyaanisqatsi, 1982, unrated, 86 minutes
August 7 Double feature night beginning at 4:30pm with Parasites, a User's Guide, 2010, unrated, 27 minutes, and at 7:30pm with The City Dark, 2011 unrated, 84 minutes. The two directors of these films, Sharon Shattuck an Ian Cheney will be present to answer questions.

The Summer Lectures Series also take place at 7:30pm in the Gates Lecture Hall.
